Louise Penny!! You’re in for a treat; I just finished her latest one and wish I had more. Her newsletters are also delightful and she’s quickly moved up to Ann Patchett status for me! My heart might explode if they were to ever do an event together.
I preordered my copy last week from my local bookstore way, way out in WA. Can’t wait to read it!
I was (sadly past tense) a fellow bookstore owner. Ugly Dog Books, was born in a small town in Massachusetts. No thanks to what I call the evil empire, Amazon, killed the Ugly Dog. But my passion and love of books, writing, and book stores live on. I too write on substack. revinup450.substack.com. We've got a little in common, you & I. Someday I'll visit NYC and visit your store and write a review. You're an inspiration! WOOF & CHEERS!
The food at Jacques-Imo’s was so good I wanted a second stomach. You’re missing a bookstore in Burlington, VT so will have to live without the magic rainbow tip in (new vocab word of the day). Can’t wait to read either way!
Do you love Louise Penny as I do? I hope so because then it's another friend on your bookshelf to visit with. I did not read her books in order, though I sometimes wish I had. Enjoy! And enjoy New Orleans! I'm a new subscriber to your newsletter and I love it...thank you for putting it out there!
I just dusted off my New Orleans recs for a friend who’s visiting now, so this is perfect timing! The best po’ boy of my life was had at Guy’s Poboys, and you can’t go wrong with ice cream at the Creole Creamery! Have fun!! (Also, I just preordered This Time Tomorrow from the GOAT — Parnassus Books — and I’m so excited! Happy 40th birthday to me!
