Yeah, Oak Park! I grew up there and can confirm that Book Table is awesome (even though I miss the old Barbara's Books that used to be across the street). And that the elementary schools are amazing.

This is so lovely! The Book Table was my local bookstore growing up and it made me so happy to see you feature it here - it is truly the best, and I always swing by whenever I am in town visiting my parents 💕

I have been following your blog for awhile now and just today realized that Peter Straub was your father!!! Another favorite author of mine. Talent definitely runs in your family!

Awesome!! Glad it was a successful day for you, your mom, Irving Elementary students and for Joel. What a treat for Deanna to be with you and your mom again and for the class to receive signed copies from Gaga herself!

Did any student ask Susan if the Gaga ball game was named after her or vice versa?

Can’t wait to read your book. Perhaps we should buy it from our local independent bookseller, The Lion’s Mouth, in Green Bay.. Would it be a good baby shower gift?

Marguerite Blecha, aka Nonnie, not Gaga😉

P.S. Perhaps Joel should have used the GOLD fanny pack while entertaining celebrities😉

Great dinner choice. I love Lou Malnati’s!

Again, I love your updates. Janet’s older sis lived and worked in Milwaukee for nearly 10 years! It’s a great town…I miss going there (in good weather only I mean), but since she too lives in our town, I regularly see her here on my porch or out and about Athens. Your mom looks fantastic. No wonder you’re cool.
