My fave soundtracks: Garden State, Inside Llewyn Davis, Once, and High Fidelity. And congrats on finishing the screenplay — can’t wait for the movie!

I loved your list - matched so many of my favorites. We have 19 and a 21 year old daughters, and a consistent favorite we all like is, surprisingly, from the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Love those soundtracks! Just saw Suzanne Vega live and she did a great version of Left of Center. Also love the Big Chill and Phenomenon (John Travolta and Kyra Sedgwick movie from the 90s) and Magnolia (because Aimee Mann rocks).

Boys on the Side, Garden State for sure, Scream, Romeo + Juliet- was just thinking about what an actual gift that movie was to nineties teenagers, dear god... everything about it was SO cool!

Love you and your broken clogs, Emma!

Damn. If Neil Gaiman would write a blurb for my future book, my life would be complete. <3

I listened to the Swing Kids soundtrack compulsively as a teen. It never transferred to digital?! Wikipedia has the list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swing_Kids_(soundtrack)

Like you, I listened to Dirty Dancing Soundtrack. Sleepless in Seattle was also a favorite. Classics.

Dirty Dancing, yes! Ghost might be my most favorite (more Patrick Swayze is always a plus). I love a good instrumental love song soundtrack. Favorites: Out of Africa (swoon) and Last of the Mohicans.

I own (treasure) a hardback copy of Tomorrow, but also want to own the blurb from Neil Gaiman because it describes the book almost succinctly which is very difficult as anyone I've recommended the book to (everyone) knows.

My favorite soundtracks are deeply uncool and throw into a moment in my adolescence when I was also deeply uncool and deeply aware of that fact.

Practical Magic/top track - ALL tracks of except the very skipable #3

About A Boy/they all blur together and are so sad I couldn't listen to them now but I loved them

Shrek/Tub thumping?

I love your suggested soundtracks! Some of my favorite albums of the past few years have been soundtracks. What does this say about me? My current faves [besides the ones you've mentioned]: Hunger Games [first one - produced by T Bone Burnett - nuff said] / Captain Marvel soundtrack [90's bliss] / Daisy Jones and the Six [pseduo 70's folk rock] / Umbrella Academy [both seasons - I haven't seen it, but my husband and kid are HUGE fans. I was reading in the next room and kept marveling over the great music emanating from our TV room...]

Thank you for the joy that is your newsletter and IG posts. It's a gift in my inbox!
