I have such a love/hate relationship with posts like this that end up costing me $97 dollars. But, yay! More books!

I just finished I Have Some Questions For You and loooooooovvvvved it!! But I’m curious how Makkai churned out The Great Believers (another one of my faves!) and this novel -- they’re so different me, as in they feel like a single author couldn’t have written them both. Goes to show that great writers can make any idea/topic a great read.

I’m loving I Have Some Questions for You! I’ve slowed my reading pace because I don’t want to reach the end too soon...and I agree, it’s SO different from The Great Believers. Clearly Rebecca Makkai is a talented writer, I can’t wait for her next book!

I'm sorry you're hurting. I want to write something trite that won't really help, but instead I'll say my best friend and I loved This Time Tomorrow so much that we keep talking about it on our walks at the exclusion of everything else and now have no clue what is going on in either of our lives, and we don't even care.

How dare you invoke the name of The Lake House with a hyperlink to purchase. I can't resist these things, Emma!

Saw that you amd Celeste Ng had a convo about her book Our Missing Hearts. Only reading 50 pages a day to make it last. Hope the days ahead are easier. Added my copy of This Time Tomorrow to one of our Little Free Libraries. Seems that Boomsday by Christopher Buckley might deserve a reread these days.

I’ve been looking for a way to support indie bookstores and authors while still using ebooks. I really struggle to read regular books in bed and with two little ones that’s my primary place to read. Any tips on how to do that? I love my kindle but would switch if I could find a good option.

this is tough--there are kobo readers, which some people use, which are more indie friendly. my best suggestion is to use libro fm, which is a great partner to Indies, if you also do audiobooks!
