Your response to your Mother's comment (35 years of background) agrees well with what I read Ann Lamotte speak of in her book on So, you want to be an Author.... (write things down, keep writing things down...).
I saw your Guest Substack Hostess this a. m. and find your views interesting👍
"The book is completely fictional, but my passion is not. I want to go where my real passion is, that’s what I’m saying." I love this, Emma. I just started work on a novel as a way to explore my current passion from a different angle, one that isn't available to me when I write about it in my usual nonfiction.
I went on my first cruise (Alaska!) with my family a few weeks ago in celebration of our 25th anniversary. As soon as the fog lifts, get thee to the lido deck with binocs. We saw over 50 humpbacks! I was in heaven. Can't wait to hear about your experience!
At the pool today I saw a fellow mom reading The Vactioneers! I stopped and complimented her excellent taste and then recommended my favorite by you (All adults here) and we chatted about books and then we moved on. ❤️
I am so glad to find your Substack! I loved This Time Tomorrow so much that, as soon as I finished it, I turned back to the front and read it through a second time. I've given away a couple of copies to friends. I look forward to reading more here!
I loved This Time Tomorrow, and I'm so thrilled to hear you also have a bookstore. I am an aspiring author and also just started working on opening my own bookshop, so you are basically who I want to be when I grow up.
So what you're saying is that the next novel is NKOTB fan fiction. Here for it!
🤐
I CAME HERE TO WRITE THIS SAME COMMENT.
All good guesses will be rewarded in due time. <3
This Time Tomorrow is my favourite book of all time. Can’t wait for your next one!

Congrats on the book sales! So excited ❤️ Also if you have a post or a list of favorite vintage stores, I would love that!
Best of luck with the bears, and the whales, and the WiFi! Absolutely love your voice.
Oh yay! This is great news! Also I hope you meet so many friendly bears and whales.
I'm very excited to hear what this secret passion book is! The other one as well, but the secret passion was a good hook.
