The thing on the homepage of that Pockets Project site where the woman pulls an entire bottle of wine out of her pocket is AMAZING. I can't stop thinking about what huge and surprising thing I could pull out of one of those pockets. (Once, in an old Hardy Boys, they talk about their friend Chet putting an entire roast chicken in his pocket, and now I have a lovely image of Chet in one of these dresses, buying a rotisserie chicken, saying, "oh, no, I don't need a bag" to the cashier.)
As someone who copied you and bought the Corey Lynn Calter dress, let me suggest Lesley Evers (https://lesleyevers.com/pages/about-lesley) a woman owned design studio out of Oakland ca! Dresses are fun, beautiful, and have pockets ❤️
PS I visited Books are Magic last week while in NYC!!
My daughter and I are also in the "hate summer, love pools" camp. We get pool passes to our local public pool (passes are $80, regular entrance is $7) and our goal is to get the passes to "pay off" (e.g. each visit costs less than $7) by the 4th of July. We even have a little tally sheet on the fridge and keep track of the lakes we visit too (#Minnesota) . Truly, finding bodies of water to be in is the driving force of our summer, so I wish you lots of pool time!
Emma, I need to tell you about Popsy. It’s a British clothing company that makes amazing comfortable dresses (and other things) and they all have pockets! When someone compliments you on a Popsy (think fun prints, bright colours, joy!) you have to point out the pockets! See for yourself www.Popsyclothing.co.uk
Emma because of reading your posts, I have stopped buying books from amazon.. What an influence u have on me... I have been getting mine from thriftbooks which I feel is sustainable choice for the world. But am I being too snotty to say that I love the smell of new books. I love holding them and they feel like home to me. Used books while I have many at this point and I adore them all but t felt like meeting an acquaintance and slowly developing a bond with them... It took time adjusting to coffee stains on few pages but now if feels like I know this person who was drinking coffee and enjoying the same part in the book as me.
Having said that, I do think I will balance old and new and for new, I can not wait to visit your store.
Does it ever happen to you that you are sort of scared to be in the light of someone you admire a lot?
--- I love dresses with pockets. Bummer someone took that idea before me! LOL..
My favourite dress with pockets is my dinosaur dress! It's so soft and stretchy and the pockets are such a life changer, I can't bear to wear anything without pockets anymore! Also dinosaurs are awesome!
I love my Greta dress by Nooworks with pockets. I get compliments every time I wear it. The company is awesome, they make everything here in the US and work with artists on their designs (and the price point reflects that!). Definitely check them out: https://nooworks.com/collections/greta
Hamilton Fish Pool on Houston & Avenue C! Everlane has some good pocket dresses! I wish the swimming pool in Central Park would open! But if you’re ever in San Pedro, CA, the best pool in the state resides there: Hey Rookie pool at Angels Gate 😎
I’m not somewhere with smoke but last weekend I had such a strong sensory flashback to spring 2020 - the street outside was quiet and strong sunlight was filtering around my blackout blind. Horrible.
That website is amazing. The older I get the angrier I get about the lack of pockets in girls and women’s clothes. I bought this awesome dress earlier this year. It is from the devil (aka Amazon) but it is comfy and has pockets and I don’t regret it. It’s currently unavailable but it’s this: Amazon Essentials Women's Sleeveless Elastic Waist Summer Maxi Dress (Available in Plus Size).
My favorite pool is the pool at the beach house we rented about four years in a row in Corolla, NC. It was small but perfect for us and we didn’t have to share it with anyone. And it wasn’t ours so no maintenance.

Neon Birkenstocks!!!! Added to the wishlist!
yes, feels exactly like June 2020. That's perhaps worse than the sucky air itself.
My favorite kind of pool is a lazy river and the MGM grand in Vegas has a pretty great one!
BARTON SPRINGS. that is all.
Pyne & Smith! OK, these pockets may not hold a bottle of wine, but they have you covered for phone, keys, and such. I've accumulated four of this particular design (Model. No. 17) since 2017 and wear them all the time. Woman-owned small business from CA, ethnically-made linen dresses. https://pyneandsmith.com/products/linen-tea-dress-full-length-pockets-saville-stripe?_pos=5&_sid=07555483b&_ss=r

Speaking of pockets and books, have you read The Pocket by Barbara Burman & Ariane Fennetaux?
